Subliminal Messages VS Positive Affirmations

Never heard about Subliminal Messages? I guess you had. They seems to be the new tool for Self Improvement capable to do almost everything but what are they? A special version or use of Positive Affirmations. I hope I haven?t ruined the surprise.

If you?re a reader of this blog you already know what are Positive Affirmations but just in case: they are carefully crafted simple sentences which help to focus the mind on a desired outcome we want to have. Constant repetition two or three times a day until they provide the desired result. Clearly the power is not in the Positive Affirmations, it?s our mind that being often and repeatedly focused on what we want to achieve does what?s needed to reach our goal. Usually they are either said aloud or mentally in the case we?re not alone.

Subliminal Messages are Positive Affirmations usually recorded in an mp3 file below the normal hearing ability of the human being. The principle is that being below the hearing level the sentence is caught by the Subconscious Mind even if skipping the control of the Conscious so results are guaranteed because the Conscious Mind cannot interfere.

This theory is valid because as demonstrated by blind people our ears can hear a wider range of sounds than we think so it makes sense that even if we can?t consciously hear something the Subconscious part of our Mind can pick it. But I don?t think that putting away the Conscious Mind is a wise decision in the long time. Subliminal Messages work but it?s better to use them in conjunction with Positive Affirmations.

Positive Affirmations to work require our Conscious Mind to accept them, then they get engraved into the Subconscious Mind and that?s why they work. Then we can add Subliminal Messages to reinforce our desire on the Subconscious thus getting faster results. It?s my opinion and I can be wrong but this is it.

One difference is that while to work Positive Affirmations require at least to be relaxed as it?s difficult to focus on something if you?re tensed, Subliminal Messages do not require relaxation so they can be listened to almost anytime during the day (except when driving). In the case of subliminals embedded in a silent mp3, that is without music, they can even played during the night at sleep. At least if they don?t keep you awake, this is a matter of personal attitude, someone gets awaken while someone else can listen to Subliminal Messages all night without problems.

So, there is really no secret regarding Subliminal Messages, they are just Positive Affirmations recorded below the normal hearing range of the human being embedded either in music or in a silent tape. Or Videos.

Subliminal Advertising: this is a very particular way of using Subliminal Messages, so successful that they have been banned years ago and are no more used, probably and hopefully. And actually this is the demonstration that they work otherwise they wouldn?t be banned in commercials, right?

Subliminal Advertising can be done in two ways: either by flashing short sentences on a screen for a tenth of a second or less or by subliminal audio. Sometimes both. They do work even without the cooperation of the Conscious Mind but just for the time to influence your behavior shopping and they require to be used many times before being effective. Nevertheless Subliminal Advertising worked.

The problem with Subliminal Messages is that you could be under their influence without knowing it. How can you know that you?re being bombarded by them? You can?t unless you analyze what you see and hear with specific software. Or you can try to protect yourself from these kinds of influences using an Hypnosis script. Let?s not forget though that subliminal videos can be very useful for people hearing impaired, just like Self Hypnosis and Positive Affirmations. 90 percent of the times we can always find a way to turn around obstacles.
